Barrett-Jackson to Sell Buddy Holly’s Restored 1958 Chevy Impala During the 2010 Scottsdale Auction (Marketwire)- Car Auction News

Hailed as “The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™,” the Scottsdale event will feature a diverse mix of the world’s most desirable collector vehicles, as well as lavish lifestyle events throughout the week. After enjoying the car on the streets of Clovis and a trip south of the border with friends in search of Mexican guitars, Buddy gave the Impala to his father as a belated Christmas gift. DOTS Volvo Amazon Looks Crusher In The Eye, Crusher Blinks First! [Auction] (Jalopnik)- About: Car Auction News

Send a link to this post ‘ DOTS Volvo Amazon Looks Crusher In The Eye, Crusher Blinks First! Sure enough, it turned out to be this battered but plenty solid 1966 Volvo Amazon sedan , which once lived just a couple of blocks from my house. Even though I don’t have any room for another car, I showed up to this auction with enough money to meet the minimum bid (which is pegged to scrap prices; Pick-N-Pull now pays $175 for a junk car, so the bids at this auction start at 200 bucks) and a commitment to rescue this Volvo in the event that nobody bid on it. This isn’t your typical high-tension car auction ; only a dozen or so cars go under the auctioneer’s non-existent hammer each week. read more

On a brighter note, General Motors’ Fort Wayne Truck Assembly Plant announced a large expansion and avoided the chopping block for plant closures. In September, GM announced it would add a third shift to the 2,500-employee plant by bringing in 700 additional employees, many of them from a closed plant in Pontiac, Mich. read more
