Back then, there were only 600 vendor spaces clustered around the grandstand leaving most of the fairgrounds open for parking and overnight camping, Bill Miller recalled. Now, 35 years later, Bill Miller expects almost 100,000 visitors from all over the world to attend the show, which features 8,100 vendor spaces. Once wide open, the 102-acre fairgrounds will be jam packed with merchants selling automotive parts, accessories and memorabilia including over 1,800 vehicles of all makes, models and prices for sale in the car corral â” a term the Millers coined for a collector car lot. To top off the daytime shopping, the Fall Carlisle Collector Car Auction will be held Thursday and Friday from 3 to 11 p. The car collector hobby has changed dramatically over the years from enthusiasts collecting cars just for fun to vehicles being acquired more as a long-term investments, Bill Miller said. read more
