The auction will feature over 500 desirable collector vehicles and lavish lifestyle events, while SPEED cameras capture live, high-definition coverage. Car collecting is certainly a passion, and Barrett-Jackson will transform Mandalay Bay into the center of the collector car universe in October. Barrett-Jackson bidders receive one bidder paddle and one guest credential valid all days of the event, a preferred parking pass, access to the bidder seating area and hosted bidder bar, two invitations to the Opening Night Party on Oct. Tri-Motor takes final flight before going on Barrett-Jackson auction block (The Business Journal of Phoenix)- Topic: Car Auction News
Louis San Antonio San Francisco San Jose Seattle South Florida Tampa Bay Washington, D. A historic airplane that was on the fringes of the attack on Pearl Harbor will hit the auction block at the 38th annual Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction in Scottsdale. The airplane is a 1929 Ford 4-AT-E Tri-Motor airplane that was hit by bullets during the surprise attack at Pearl Harbor that drew the U. His son, Dolph Overton IV, co-piloted the aircraft alongside legendary air show pilot Jimmy Leeward. Henry Ford recognized the potential for mass air transportation after World War I and created the Tri-Motor “Tin Goose” to promote air travel. To overcome concerns of engine reliability, Ford specified three engines and added features for passenger comfort, such as an enclosed cabin. read more
