Detroit, MI (PRWEB) July 30, 2008 — An edgy, HEMI-powered, award-winning roadster from Chrysler's 2007 Mopar SEMA exhibit will be up for bidding at the August 14-16 Russo and Steele Auction in Monterey, California. For nearly two years, Chrysler's Mark Allen and Ralph Gilles planned to build the SR 392 Roadster as a SEMA stunner with Michael Chetcuti of Livonia, Mich. Allen is chief designer, Jeep/Dodge Truck Studios - Chrysler LLC and Gilles is Vice President of Jeep/Truck & CFM Design - Chrysler LLC. Gilles and Allen are members of Chrysler's Mopar Underground SEMA design team, a group of in-house automotive enthusiasts who donate their time to SEMA project vehicles. read more

The latest report from leading vehicle auction company, British Car Auctions (BCA) shows that used car values tumbled in the second quarter of 2008, with the BCA Index falling by nine points - the biggest fall recorded in 3½ years. Used Car Values fall in June BCA’s June figures show that average used car values fell after staging a small recovery the previous month. Average used values for fleet & lease and part-exchange cars both fell by over £200 in June, while nearly-new values fell significantly after climbing in May. The Fleet & Lease sector Average values for fleet & lease used cars again fell quite sharply from £6,428 in May to £6,189 in June, a drop of £239 in a month with similar age and mileage profiles. read more

Much of a Bay City man’s car collection will be up for sale Saturday as part of the second annual auction of collector cars and trucks at the Michigan Antique & Collectible Festival at the Midland County Fairgrounds. Approximately half of the 47 vehicles in the sale’s inventory Monday afternoon are part of the collection of Gayland Hagleshaw of Bay City, said a friend, Don Sanford of Ypsilanti. No minimum price — or reserve — is set for the Hagleshaw cars, Sanford said. Driving vehicles into and out of the auction again this year will be volunteers helping with the annual downtown Midland Cruise ‘n Car Show, said Richard Beehr of Midland, a co-chairperson of that Sept. read more
