A Victory Red version of this 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will be auctioned for charity in Monterey, California, in August. MONROVIA, California — RM Auctions has announced that its Sports & Classics of Monterey auction in August will feature a brand-new 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 amid the classic and exotic cars on the block. Last year’s Monterey auction, held to coincide with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, saw 190 cars cross the auction block to total $46 million in sales, including nine that sold for more than $1 million each. This year, a rare Chrysler Diablo concept from 1957 and a one-off 1954 Cramer Comet powered by an Allison fighter engine from World War II will share pride of place with the luscious 1953 Ferrari 212 Vignale Coupe, 1972 Lamborghini Miura P4000SV and other exotics up for sale. MADISON People looking to beat high gas prices with alternative energy may want to check out a state vehicle auction this weekend. The state of Wisconsin is auctioning off 42 Ford Tauruses that can run on E85 fuel. The flex-fuel cars are part of more than 100 vehicles, including cars, trucks and vans, the state is auctioning because of age or condition. To see the Tauruses, and the other cars the state is auctioning, check this database. Flex-fuel cars typically burn more E85 fuel than gasoline, but E85 is currently much cheaper than gas. The Tauruses are not being sold because they burn E85, but because they have reached the end of their useful life for the state. read more

Car Auction News - Cars being sold at Civic Center (The Bismarck Tribune)

Collector and muscle cars will be at the Bismarck Civic Center for Saturday’s annual Bismarck Classic Car Auction. More than 100 real classics, convertibles and ’50s and ’60s muscle cars will be on the auction block beginning at 11 a. The sale will be conducted by auctioneers Clint and Kevin Beeter of Northern AuctionCo. According to Kevin Beeter, the sale also will feature old jukeboxes, pinball machines, old signs and antique pedal cars. read more
