Instead, it’s just a group of teenagers using their spare time to try and make a difference in a world that is clearly suffering,” said Fashion with Compassion member Amanda Presmyk. The show, which featured hair and make-up design by Haley Cooper and fashions from Buckle, Caché, The Impeccable Pig, Jake’s Loft, and Janie & Jack, took place May 9 in the Bridge at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church. The Bridge was the perfect place for our show,” said Shelby Brown, who originally came up with the concept of Fashion with Compassion and headed the event. Because of caring teens who put in countless hours working on the event, businesses that generously donated clothing and silent auction items, the event raised more than $3,000, not to mention another $2,000 that was raised by the teens spending a Saturday working a car auction two weeks prior to the show in order to raise money for the cause. read more
