FRANCE TAKES eBAY TO COURT (CalTrade Report)- Car Auction News

SAN JOSE 12/21/07 Online auctioneer eBay is being taken to court by the French government, which is charging that the company doesn’t do enough to protect consumers; the company should be held to the same standards as other auction houses in France, according to the state Council of Sales. SAN FRANCISCO 12/04/07 Cargo terminal operator MTC Holdings has completed the acquisition of Puerta México, an inland, intermodal terminal facility and services company located on a 130 acre site about 40 miles west of Mexico City in Toluca’s industrial zone; the facility will handle cargo moving to and from the industrial zone, the ports of Lázaro Cárdenas and Manzanillo, and the US border crossing at Laredo, Texas. SAN FRANCISCO 11/08/07 Irish airline Aer Lingus has inaugurated a new four-day per week service between the high-technology centers of the San Francisco Bay Area and Dublin, Ireland; the new service comes as a result of the new Open Skies agreement inked earlier this year between the US and the European Union and is expected to expand to a daily service next March. SAN FRANCISCO 10/02/07 Urban, custom winemaker Crushpad has launched a new venture to serve the rapidly growing base of California wine enthusiasts in Japan; the new company Crushpad Japan will utilize staff in both Tokyo and San Francisco to provide Japanese language marketing, sales and winemaking support tailored to the Japanese market, the company’s largest market outside the US. read more
