(Car Auction News) Teens plan car auction to help Darfur refugees (The Argus)
PLEASANTON — When he was 12 years old, Jon Brian used to sit up on the wall of Valley Avenue and watch the hot rods whiz by during the Goodguys Rod & Custom Association’s car shows. Now Brian is utilizing his passion for a good cause by leading a project called “A Car for Darfur. The project will also likely raise more money than a fundraiser because the person who ends up buying the car will be willing to pay more knowing the money is going to a good cause, Berger said. Goodguys Rod & Custom Association, their primary sponsor, is featuring a “Car for Darfur” booth at the 21st Goodguys Texaco/Havoline West Coast Nationals this weekend at the Alameda County Fairgrounds.
