Although televised car auctions have been tucked away for years at places like the SPEED Channel, ESPN networks this year entered the market in earnest, increasing the auctions’ visibility and popularity. Included in a block of automotive-themed programming called ESPN2 Garage, the auctions draw anywhere from 300,000 to 600,000 viewing households, says Frantz Cayo, director of motorsports programming for ESPN. The Raleigh auctions, which are not televised, are run by Auctions America, a company owned by Mike Leith of the Leith automotive empire. read more  Read more... The 25th annual Spring Bluegrass Festival is June 7 through 9 at the Heart of the Ozarks Bluegrass Association’s park near West Plains.
