Robert Ritholz finishes pulling the top down of his Rolls Royce while Joal Derse-Dauer waits in the passenger seat after they toured the Samara house Sunday in West Lafayette. More than a dozen exotic Bentleys and Rolls Royces, some more than 50 years old, lined Woodland Avenue Sunday morning. The Chicago group of Rolls and Bentley owners toured the Samara house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. The Rolls Royce Owners Club, Lake Michigan Region, and the Bentley Drivers Club decided to tour Lafayette and West Lafayette Friday through Sunday. The Greater Lafayette itinerary included a trip to the Tippecanoe Battlefield & Museum in Battle Ground, a tour of Purdue University, a tour of local attorney John Gambs’ collection of classic cars, the Samara tour and other events. Car Auction News – YULON, ACER WORK TOGETHER TO EXPAND USED CAR AUCTION MARKET (Central News Agency)

Taipei, April 18 (CNA) The Sinjan Auto Auction (SAA), an affiliate of the Yulon Group, has launched Point of Sale (POS) electronic auction system under a collaboration with Acer Computer aimed at the local and international market for used cars, SAA Chairman Su Ching-yang said Wednesday. Acer and SAA, the nation’s largest used car auctioneer, intend to introduce the system to China, Japan and Thailand, according to Su. Instead of using a Japanese system, SAA worked with Acer in order to acquire its own technology platform, Su said, adding that the newly launched system will help expand the auction scale for used cars in Taiwan and help it enter the international market, especially China. Su vowed to make SAA a leading brand in the second-hand car business in Chinese speaking areas and added that the POS system will be introduced to China as long as related regulations can be approved. read more
