The first GarageTown in the state is expected to open in Chandler in the late summer, with other sites around the Valley scheduled to break ground shortly thereafter. At the facility under construction in Chandler at the Stellar Business Park on Chandler Boulevard, only a handful of the 50 units remain for sale, said Stefanie McDaniel, GarageTown’s sales and marketing director at the Arizona headquarters in Mesa. In addition to a stucco-and-rock façade that belies the presence of a storage unit, the center’s other amenities, including an owners clubhouse with common areas, showers and televisions, that round out the community feel GarageTown is trying to create out of the isolated concept of a storage center. Knowing that their customers need disposable income to spend on toys they can’t store at home and a little extra on a climate-controlled storage facility, the Arizona team started pitching the idea at the Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction in Scottsdale in January. But whether they’re pushing protection from Idaho’s harsh winters or Arizona’s cruel summer sun, the idea has caught on everywhere GarageTown has set up shop so far, said Carri Berglund, with GarageTown’s corporate sales and marketing department in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. read more

(Car Auction News) Car Auction Company Suing Mid- Michigan Judge (WNEM TV 5 Mid-Michigan)
WNEM TV-5 Mid-Michigan’s News Leader plus Weather and Sports for Saginaw,Flint, Bay City, Midland, Thumb, MI; WNEM. Former owner David Clabuesch says the car should have fetched between $700,000 and a million dollars. Barrett-Jackson is suing Clabuesch in Phoenix for “outrageous and defamatory actions,” including chaining the car's wheels at the auction tent and putting up a sign calling its sale void.
