(Car Auction News) A scale history of firefighting (Midland Daily News)

Richard Porath of Waltz, Michigan displays his collection of antique bicycles from the 1860s to 1950s during the Antique & Collectible Festival at the Midland Fairgrounds Saturday. The retired Bangor Township Assistant Fire Chief and owner of Dobson Industrial and Dobson Movers (and retired Shriner clown “Dobbie”) said his toy collection has gotten away from him, expanding to Coca-Cola, Snap-On, NASCAR and Tonka items. Highly collectible early Buddy L trucks (so strong, kids could ride on them, he said) are the prizes of the scale collection, but at his museum he has the only New York Fire Department Super Pumper. Zack Haremski, 5, of Saginaw views a collection of more than 4,000 model fire trucks and equipment in the Antique Toy and Firehouse Museum’s mobile museum Saturday at the Midland Fairgrounds. read more
