Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/MICHAEL WOODS Spring break readers Lisa Thompson and her daughter Lindy Thompson, 4, of Goshen read a book Thursday afternoon at the Fayetteville Public Library. They will include UA emeritus horticulture professor Gerald Klingaman; Patti Erwin of the Arkansas Forestry Commission; Mark Bray of the Benton County cooperative extension office; Corrin Troutman of Compton Gardens; Greg Howe of the Urban Forestry Commission of Fayetteville; Southwestern Electric Power Co. The first “Discovery Arkansas” New Play Festival, sponsored by TheatreSquared of Fayetteville, will be March 27-28 at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville. Two of the plays set for production are Kevin Cohea’s Sundown Town, which tells the story of a black farmhand who must deal with sundown laws in small-town Arkansas, and Robert Ford’s Look Away, Look Away, a glimpse into the lives of two young black men on the run from a lynch mob in 1930s Mississippi. read more
