A Victory Red version of this 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 will be auctioned for charity in Monterey, California, in August. MONROVIA, California — RM Auctions has announced that its Sports & Classics of Monterey auction in August will feature a brand-new 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 amid the classic and exotic cars on the block. Last year’s Monterey auction, held to coincide with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, saw 190 cars cross the auction block to total $46 million in sales, including nine that sold for more than $1 million each. This year, a rare Chrysler Diablo concept from 1957 and a one-off 1954 Cramer Comet powered by an Allison fighter engine from World War II will share pride of place with the luscious 1953 Ferrari 212 Vignale Coupe, 1972 Lamborghini Miura P4000SV and other exotics up for sale.
