MADISON People looking to beat high gas prices with alternative energy may want to check out a state vehicle auction this weekend. The state of Wisconsin is auctioning off 42 Ford Tauruses that can run on E85 fuel. The flex-fuel cars are part of more than 100 vehicles, including cars, trucks and vans, the state is auctioning because of age or condition. To see the Tauruses, and the other cars the state is auctioning, check this database. Flex-fuel cars typically burn more E85 fuel than gasoline, but E85 is currently much cheaper than gas. The Tauruses are not being sold because they burn E85, but because they have reached the end of their useful life for the state. read more
