(Car Auction News) Car auction delayed (The Herald)

Twenty-five Harare motorists risk losing their clamped and towed-away vehicles if they fail to respond to council calls to claim the cars. According to minutes of the latest full council meeting, the commission running Harare deferred the immediate auction of the vehicles to give the owners ample time to claim them. The decision to delay the auction was reached after members of the finance committee, chaired by Commissioner Alfred Tome, felt all avenues to allow reclamation should be exhausted. The said vehicles were towed away between March and June 2006. In March and April this year, council published Press notices inviting the vehicle owners to claim their cars. read more
