After complaints that the tent was just too gaudy to be at the foot of the McDowell Mountains in ritzy north Scottsdale, officials decided to make a change. Crews recently replaced the previous skin on the 120,000-square-foot tent with one that is supposed to blend in with its Sonoran Desert surroundings. But Vice Mayor Tony Nelssen said city staff missed the mark after he drove by the tent and was blinded by sunlight reflecting off the new cover. City spokesman Mike Phillips said there were no immediate plans to change the tent again and that it will dull with age, dust and weather. The tent at WestWorld has housed major events like the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction.
